I like to have 1 character always in pre. To help newbs, & to change the pace. It can be fun.

Like in villany of Galrath, if you start from temples ToA, you get 8 members instead of 6, give us another Town in pre or let us group 4 in Ranik.

Or give us a special quest where the reward is the ability to group more then 2. Say, kill all the charr in northlands...or
Collect 50 charr hides...then you know they aren't a newb. Cause you can teach more then one newb at a time when you can group 4.

Weapons
Clubs & hammers are similar. The motion to swing/wield it is similar. Let the warrior start with a club. Something easily found in the woods. Ettins have clubs.

Upgrade would be a spiked club...studded club
steel club.
Spears & new class
In diablo2, the amazons has sweet motions with spears/lance/javelin. We need that in GWs! Oh GWs doesn't want to copy another game? Give the people what they want. What ever works baby! D3 is coming out, GWs better step up to the plate.

Sorrows Furnace was a let down after the first few days. Oh green big deal. They don't even look nicer then chaos ax, eternal shields...

Back to new class.
That would be a sweet quest as a 2ndary class. The Weapons Master.
As much as I like my paladin, w/monk...It would be a nice change to be weapons master. Hell, i'm not going to change to war/mes or war/ele. Thats not my style.

New attributes
- spear/lance
- javelin
- bows

Hmm interesting, but, i think your most Important point is that D3 IS coming out..... and i for one would like to know what Anet is going to do to compete........ i'm an old D2 Vet, and the reason i chose Guild Wars over WOW and other games of the same ilk is simple... its because half the team who created D2 at Bliz North now work for / own Anet.

Hmmm may start my own thread on this subject sumtime... sorry 4 hijacking... just musing

I'm sorry but the idea that GW has to compete with Diablo 3 is ludicrous. If anything, Diablo 3 will have to step up to GW.

Just wait and see what Chapter 2 brings with regards to new professions and weapons. I'm sure ANet have seen that Spears are a popular suggestion, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was some implementation of them in Chapter 2, or in other future expansions.
